Home > Accessibility Guide for Babeau villa
Babeau is an ancient farmhouse in South West France that was not specifically designed with wheelchair access in mind. However, it offers two ground-floor bedrooms, two shower rooms, and three WCs. The shower room next to Bedroom 2 has been adapted for wheelchair users, making it the most suitable accessible facility within the property.

There are relatively few steps around the property, although there is a significant step between the main living area and the TV lounge/Bedroom 3 area.
This can be avoided by accessing the TV lounge externally via the front terrace through the double-opening French doors.
The French doors throughout the property are generally wide enough for wheelchair access. Thresholds are approximately 3–4cm high.
Bedroom 2 is the most suitable room for wheelchair users.
The shower room includes:
A shower chair/commode can be provided free of charge on request.

The easiest wheelchair access into the property is through the TV lounge entrance.
The property is accessed from the gravel driveway to the rear of the house.
A concrete pathway runs from the kitchen to the TV lounge. There is one 8cm step, although wheelchair users would not normally need to use this route.
The front terrace and pool area are paved. There are some slight slopes and small uneven surface changes, but no significant steps.
