Top Spec and Space for all the family
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
All our party from 2 years old up to 86 absolutely loved it. The property is superb, such good spec and so much space everywhere! The kids loved the pool and garden so much, while the oldies enjoyed peace and quiet on the beautiful terrace on the other side of the house! The owners have done such a great renovation job throughout.

The best family villa we’ve ever stayed in!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had a wonderful week in Au Bardeche. We’ve had several family holidays over the last 10 years in France, Spain and Corfu. This was by far the best property we’ve stayed in. It was very well equipped and all the facilities were great – the open plan nature of the main living areas, the spacious bedrooms, the covered outside dining area, and, given the weather, the huge garden and of course the pool, in which the children in particular spent a large amount of time! We had a wonderful anniversary lunch at XIII Clochers at Monteton which we walked to, a wine tasting and winery tour at Domaine Prevot at Mau Michot and a lovely evening at the night market in Levignac. All in all a great holiday.

A great house for one or more families.
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
A wonderful house in a peaceful area. Au Bardeche is incredibly well equipped and maintained. The countryside views are tremendous. The pool area has a sensible gate arrangement if you are travelling with young children. We enjoyed local jaunts to Duras (great Chateau), Bergerac and various local vineyards. We loved our stay and would return in a heartbeat.

Best gite we’ve ever stayed at!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
The property was everything it said it was. Perfect for 6 of us who enjoy space. It was excellently equipped, clean and well maintained. The bbq was great but the pool was the best, complete with cleaning robot it was a real joy to have as the temperature never went below 34 all week. Our outings were short because of the heat but we recommend the market at Eymet and a chateau near Sigoules which had masses of games which were enjoyed by everyone (from 12 to 69!) Duras night market was great fun too. We ate at Nostalgia on our last evening. The food was very good and the view lovely.

Exactly what we needed and much more
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had told ourselves not to expect the property to be as good as the photo’s, so kept our expectations modest. Wrong! It was utterly charming in exactly the way we could have hoped. Rooms are lovely, light and wonderfully furnished. Every room had its own charm; small details of pictures on walls, careful stylish touches within keeping – spot the enormous sword in the sitting room and even the piano is a really good one. The kitchen was well equipped and all ten of our group ranging from 25 years to 62, had space and quiet when they wanted to, a perfect pool to cool down in and enjoy, loads of different spots to choose to sit in for the next meal. We came needing rest and restoration and here it was. We kayaked, visited chateaux, walked, went to markets, local and further afeild and visited vineyards….read, relaxed…..everything we could have wished for. For us, completely perfect, our expectations exceeded and all hopes met. With some hesitation as we don’t want this to become too popular as we would like to come back – hugely recommended!
The Balston family, August 2016

The perfect location for our family to reunite!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Such a beautiful house that was well catered for and clearly loved by the owners. Attention to detail and the ornaments around the house made the stay more special.
There was plenty of space for the 10 of us. We hired bikes to explore the area and to collect breakfast each morning. We went boating, checked out the fantastic market and castle in Duras, visited a local night market, enjoyed some meals out as well as enjoyed relaxing at the house and swimming in the lovely pool.
It was a wonderful week.
Rebecca T. August 2016

“We really enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend the Villa and area to anyone looking for a nice relaxing break with some great places to see and eat not too far away. The Villa grounds, which housed our party of 10 really well, has a great Swimming pool and Sun lounging area, enough room to play the Boules that are provided and great views of the Church next door (with it’s slightly creepy graveyard).

We found that the kitchen was more than adequate to cook 3 course meals for our big party, and has a little herb garden just outside of the kitchen door and also a couple of apple tree’s at the front of the house, which we raided…

Whilst there was plenty of places to “hang out”, one of the things we enjoyed the most about the holiday was the covered outside seated BBQ area. With more than enough chairs in and around the property to seat everyone, we ate outside almost every night and enjoyed that space so much that we didn’t actually eat in the dining room at all.

On the recommendation of Maureen – the very lovely housekeeper – we also went to a quaint night market in nearby Duras and would have gone Kayaking, but it was too hot. On the days when the weather wasn’t so great, we enjoyed a tour of the nearby Chater Vineyard (which is included with the Villa) and played Darts and Ping pong in the covered games area.

We found the Villa pretty easily and had no problem getting everything we needed from the Super markets near by, with a little Carrefour about 5 minutes away which was great for fresh Croissants and bread everyday. The only problem we had was not with the Villa, but with the supermarkets being closed on a Sunday. We did some research into Sunday markets that were open in Toulouse (Where we flew into) and picked up some great produce on our way to the Villa.

David and Tracy, who I booked the Villa with were also very helpful. Overall, a really good experience.”

“We had an absolutely wonderful week. We adore the house and felt it was just like home and were all very sad to leave; one week was definitely not long enough. We love that part of France having stayed there before and enjoyed exploring more of the area. You really are very lucky to have such a beautiful house.”

“A good spacious house, The outside areas afforded everyone somewhere to be alone should they have the need for it”

“I would like to extend my sincerest sentiment of appreciation for the house’s qualities. We have enjoyed the days we spent amongst these wonderful surroundings and under the roof of the house. The outside fireplace is en extremely cosy area in the evening. I would equally like to extend my gratitude towards the caretakers of the house for their wonderful spirit, and kind assistance.”

“Fabulous holiday in amazing surroundings, fantastic house and pool” Great weather, outdoor eating area a bonus. Very picturesque surroundings and the crickets were extremely friendly!”

“Wonderful house with plenty of amenities and “sports facilities”  to keep us all busy!”

“The location is perfect for us! We have enjoyed the pool and outdoor eating. Lovely views to appreciate and near to lovely and lively Duras. We hope to be back soon.”

“ The crowning glory for us was the outside covered seating area where we all enjoyed a blazing fire every evening regardless of the weather!”

“ … beautiful, relaxing and provided us with a perfect home for our holiday in this area. Thank you!”

“The villa was superb – all you needed and more – with the little “extra’s” being a nice touch. Set in beautiful surroundings made for an ideal spot. Pool was great – even the temperature was good!”

“ A fantastic villa with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday! Comfortable and totally relaxing environment. It was lovely to have so many varied areas to sit and enjoy the surroundings!”
