Beau Forêt is a peaceful retreat for adults and a magical playground for children — the perfect setting for a relaxed family holiday.
Set within a beautiful 10-hectare estate on the border of the Dordogne and Lot regions, Beau Forêt offers space, nature and tranquillity. The friendly owners live on-site and warmly welcome guests, creating a safe and relaxed atmosphere where families can truly unwind. Surrounded by forest, the only sounds are birdsong and nature — ideal for slowing down and spending time together.
As you drive into the valley, the full estate opens up before you, revealing a sense of space, beauty and calm that immediately makes you feel on holiday.
The villas are slightly elevated, each with a spacious terrace overlooking the private valley, a heated swimming pool and an orchard. Children love exploring the grounds, discovering fruit trees—apples, cherries, nuts, plums, figs and kiwis—while parents can relax in one of the many seating areas dotted around the estate, perfect for picnics or quiet moments. The wooded areas offer gentle walks, where deer and wild boar are often seen.
The estate consists of five attached villas—three with three bedrooms and two with two bedrooms—carefully designed to provide both comfort and privacy. The villas are tastefully furnished, combining character features such as old tile floors, exposed beams and fireplaces with cosy, family-friendly interiors. All bedrooms are fitted with shutters to help keep the villas cool during warm summer nights.
At a safe distance from the villas is the large heated swimming pool, with a sun terrace, loungers and parasols, all overlooking the stunning private valley — a favourite spot for both children and adults.
The owners live on the estate and are always on hand to ensure everything runs smoothly. They regularly organise welcoming evenings and fun activities for children, creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where families quickly feel at home.
All villas have been, or are being, redecorated, with new furnishings and artwork added during the 2025/26 closed season. Some images in the gallery show the villas prior to these updates.

Activities & surroundings
The surrounding countryside is perfect for scenic walks, while nearby activities include horse riding, golf, tennis and canoeing. The Dordogne River, just 800 metres away, is ideal for swimming or fishing. For days out, charming towns such as Sarlat, Rocamadour, Beynac and Domme offer markets, shops and sunny terraces.
Families will also enjoy the nearby adventure climbing park, with courses up to 20 metres high, suitable for both children and adults, as well as the water park in Souillac with its many attractions.
Cycling has become increasingly popular in the region. A former railway line between Souillac and Sarlat has been converted into a safe, car-free cycling route that follows the Dordogne River. Bikes can be hired locally in Souillac, with transport available if needed. Scooters can also be rented nearby.
The Dordogne & Lot region
The Dordogne lies on the western foothills of the Massif Central and forms a varied landscape of valleys, limestone plateaus and forests. Together with the neighbouring Lot, the area was historically known as Périgord and Quercy—names still widely used today.
The limestone landscape has created spectacular caves and caverns, many decorated with impressive stalactites. Agriculture remains important, with sunflower fields, vineyards, corn and livestock shaping the countryside. Most villages sit in the valleys, while the hills are covered in forests rich in wildlife.
The Dordogne also has a rich history, from prehistoric cave art such as Lascaux to medieval castles built during the Hundred Years’ War, many of which can still be visited today.
Dear Wilbert and Willemien. Great how the kids got excited about the balls adventure in the pool! What a party !! We enjoyed.
Many thanks for the welcoming reception and the delicious food on the first night. Very enjoyable that you know so much about the area and came up with super nice ideas such as trout fishing, smoking and eating. It was very nice. We enjoyed !
Dear Willemien and Wilbert. We would like to thank you for the fantastic stay at Font Neuve. It was super, until next year!
We have now been here for the second time on holiday. We went sailing with the canoe and that was great fun. The trampoline here is super nice. Wilbert and Willemien are very nice and play a lot with the children. I think it’s great that Wilbert always goes to the bakery in the morning and brings lots of goodies. I definitely want to come back again !!
It was fun this year and the best thing was swimming with ice and the hut. I liked it very much. Also swimming in the night and the jacuzzi. Wilbert and Willemien I really liked it here. Especially the stone painting was great. We will be happy to come back.
Dear Willemien and Wilbert. Thank you for all your worries and your enormous hospitality. We enjoyed !!
“So good I’m tempted to avoid attracting others….A lovely property. The facilities are shared, but exceptionally good and there was plenty of space for outside games (frisbee, football, badminton). We enjoyed meeting people from the other properties and on one night the owners laid on a fantastic communal meal. The owners who live in a property about 200m away, were continuously cheerful and helpful – never intrusive but a real asset. Other than the 2-3 families we shared our stay with, the property is beautifully isolated and self contained – yet has easy access to many of the Dordogne’s wonderful sights. For a family with children, happy to meet and share with a small number of other guests – this is an absolute gem. The guests we shared with were all loyal returners!

Wilbert and Willemene are the perfect hosts. Friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and go out of their way to make you comfortable. The property is so peaceful and beautiful. There are lots of fun activities on the property as well as incredible sights nearby. We would love to come back!
“We have lost count slightly but according to us this was our ninth visit to Beau Foret. When you have very fond memories of a place you run the risk of the memory being better than reality. However, our holidays at Beau Foret continue to surprise us. We described all the beautiful locations in the surroundings in the guestbook over the last few years but what makes a holiday at Beau Foret so special is that you feel completely at home and can fully relax. It is wonderful to spend such a great and carefree time with each other. Beau Foret will always have a special place in our heart and for our children be a part of their childhood memories. You turn it in to the highlight it has been for years. Many thanks for that! When we arrived the fifth time you surprised us with champagne on the terrace. We look forward to our tenth arrival!
With kind regards Hein, Marie-Jeanne.
“For the third time we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beau Foret, we had a great time. Our grandchildren really didn’t want to go home but sadly everything comes to an end.”
“We really enjoyed your beautiful house, the wonderful food that you prepared for us, the beaming faces of the grandchildren while building the hut, the quest and the archery.
Thank you once again and you will definitely see us again…!!”
Many kind regards Henk & Nel, Saskia, Reinhold, Gijs, Teun, Koen, Jane & Mees.
“This year was our first time at Beau Foret…and it bears repetition. It was fabulous. The surroundings, your hospitality, the lovely cottages. Thank you so much! Our daughter also had a lovely holiday. It is so nice how you involve the children in everything. She enjoyed looking for the eggs, jumping on the trampoline and making the lavender sachets. Once again our thanks and until next time.”
Love Els, Sergio, Charlotte & Veerle.
“Every now and again you encounter paradise. Beau Foret is one of those places! Thank you for your warm welcome and hospitality. Merci, merci!”
Sunny greetings Linda, Ralphe & Tim
“The past 2 weeks we thoroughly enjoyed this unique place: the peacefulness, the space, the swimming pool, the lovely surroundings and the great weather. But what makes this place so unique is your kindness and cordiality. The two nights when you cooked for all the guests were great fun and the food was excellent! We were even able to go out for a carefree dinner ! We had a fantastic evening and the children enjoyed baking pancakes and doing arts and crafts! You are a unique couple!”
Cordial regards Dirk, Ariane, Mila, Iwan & Jonathan.
“I had such a great time again! Can I come back next year? I have swum a lot (without arm bands). I think the swimming teacher will be very proud when I return to swimming lessons after the holiday! The whirlpool was a real treat. See you next year!”
Hugs, Luuk
“Our 2 wonderful weeks are almost over already! 🙁 For the second time we enjoyed your beautiful estate and your personal attention. The two campfires, the dinners, the ‘tough boys’ night! Everything was fun and well organised. Our son played in the ‘secret hut’ for hours. The babysitting was a great success: the boys enjoyed baking pancakes and playing restaurant at your house, we enjoyed each other’s company and the food at Chateau de la Treyne. Thank you for your kindness. We hope you will continue to run Beau Foret this way for a long time because we want to return often.”
“We have had a fantastic week with you. Thank you for all your kindness and attention: for us but especially for the boys. All guests combined 11 boys!! Super fun and W & W Co. organised games and activities with lots of love and fun. Our children and (therefore) we as well have thoroughly enjoyed the archery, campfire, the ‘secret hut’, the trampoline and the swimming pool. About 10 pages on (don’t ask me why?) our children wrote their own piece. It speaks for itself! ………..
Yes! The Netherlands won another gold medal but this time for the best holiday ever 🙂 I hope to return as soon as possible.”
“This is our third visit and every time it is a pleasant surprise: the location, the sun, and the rest. The two of you make the most important difference. The personal approach and effort and enthusiasm make the difference. Thank you for that.”
“Sadly time flies here, our time is already up: We really want to thank you for our two wonderful weeks of holiday at Beau Foret!!! The sunshine, the peace, the swimming pool, our lovely cottage, the trampoline, the hammock, the ‘tough boys’ night, the enjoyable evening having dinner with everybody….we enjoyed it!!
Our children also enjoyed it: feeding the chickens and finding eggs, the rides with Wilbert or Willemien in the golf cart, the water fight with Wilbert at the swimming pool :-), the whirlpool, arts and crafts at our big kitchen table in our cottage, playing with all the other boys (11 in total…) And we also really enjoyed it: the outdoor living, the quiet nights underneath the starry sky! In short, thank you for your hospitality and we hope to come here again for another holiday.”
“Our holiday at Beau Foret was FANTASTIC; we were surprised by the beauty of the location and its surroundings. We keep a good memory of the owners, there is such a perfect ambiance and there is enough privacy for everyone. We will definitely come back.”
