Château de Bel Air is a beautifully restored 5-bedroom luxury château with a private heated saltwater pool, air-conditioned bedrooms and vineyard views, set on a working wine estate in Lalande-de-Pomerol near Pomerol, Saint-Émilion and Bordeaux.
Once a much-loved family home, Château de Bel Air has been thoughtfully transformed into an exceptional holiday retreat while retaining its original character and charm.
Comfortably accommodating up to 10 guests, the château offers 5 beautifully appointed bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom or shower room.
Set among the vineyards of Lalande-de-Pomerol, Château de Bel Air offers a rare opportunity to stay on a working Bordeaux wine estate. Combining elegant period character with modern comforts, it is ideally placed for exploring Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux and the surrounding countryside of southwest France.

The property
The château offers approximately 400m² of accommodation arranged over 3 floors.
The spacious living rooms, kitchen and dining areas are on the ground floor, with the bedrooms arranged across the first and top floors.
Bedrooms & bathrooms
All 5 bedrooms are air-conditioned and have their own private en-suite shower room or bathroom with WC.
There is also an additional guest WC on the ground floor, and a hairdryer is provided in each bedroom.
Top-floor bedrooms
Bedroom 1: Large 180cm double bed.
En-suite walk-in shower and WC.
Bedroom 2: Either 2 single beds (90cm) or 1 large 180cm double bed.

First-floor bedrooms
Bedroom 3: The spacious master suite extends across the full width of the château and has a large 180cm double bed, balconies with beautiful views and a dressing room with extensive storage.
The generous en-suite bathroom has a feature bath, walk-in shower, 2 separate washbasin areas and WC.
Bedroom 4: Either 2 single beds (90cm) or 1 large 180cm double bed.

Cleaning, towels & linen
Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are included in the price.
For stays of 2 weeks or more, a complimentary mid-stay change of bed linen and bath towels is also provided.

A separate utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Dining
The spacious dining room is located just off the kitchen and enjoys dual-aspect views, creating a bright and welcoming setting for family meals and special occasions.
Living rooms
There are 2 separate living spaces.
The Living Room: A comfortable room with a TV offering international channels.
The Sitting Room: An elegant living space overlooking the front terrace and pool, also with a TV offering international channels.
Office
A dedicated workspace is located on the first floor overlooking the pool and can be accessed from either the master suite or the first-floor landing.
High-speed fibre broadband and Wi-Fi are available throughout the château.

The grounds
The château is surrounded by its working vineyard estate, creating a peaceful and picturesque setting in the heart of Lalande-de-Pomerol.
The vines form part of a 15-hectare wine estate producing AOP Lalande-de-Pomerol wines, giving guests an authentic insight into life on a Bordeaux vineyard.
There is ample private parking beside the château.
Complimentary wine-cellar visit & tasting
Guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary guided tour of the château’s wine cellar, available in English or French by prior arrangement.
During the visit, you can learn about the winemaking process from vine to bottle before tasting the estate’s wines.
Wine is also available to purchase directly from the vineyard.

Restaurants
Our favourite local restaurant, La Table de Catusseau, is approximately 4.6km from the château and is highly recommended for its excellent cuisine and welcoming atmosphere.
There are also several restaurants within approximately 2km of the château, with a wider choice of cafés, bistros and fine dining throughout the surrounding area.

Château de Bel Air is ideally positioned for exploring Pomerol, Saint-Émilion and the wider Bordeaux wine region, as well as the Dordogne and historic towns and villages of southwest France.

Reservation Information
Changeover Day
Saturday.
No booking fee.
A 25% deposit secures a reservation, with the balance payable 8 weeks before rental commencement.
A £2,000 security bond is pre-authorised against a credit card 7–10 days before arrival and released after departure, subject to a satisfactory inspection.

Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels.
A complimentary weekly change of bed linen and bath towels is provided for bookings of 2 weeks or more.
Built-in air conditioning in all bedrooms.
Private Swimming Pool
The pool is open until 16 October 2026 and from 17 April to 15 October 2027.
Pool heating is included until 18 September 2026 and from 17 May to 17 September 2027. Outside these dates, pool heating is available at an additional charge of £235 per week.
Please note that specific water temperatures cannot be guaranteed, as pool heating is influenced by weather conditions and other factors.

The local area
Château de Bel Air is set among the vineyards of Lalande-de-Pomerol, in one of the most celebrated wine-producing areas of South West France. Pomerol is on the doorstep, with the world-famous Château Pétrus approximately 4km away, while Saint-Émilion and its UNESCO-listed vineyards are also within easy reach. Libourne, approximately 6km away, offers a wide choice of shops, restaurants and markets.
Bordeaux is approximately 45km away, while the renowned wine estates around Margaux can be reached in around 65km. For a day by the Atlantic coast, the spectacular Dune du Pilat and Cap Ferret are both approximately 110km away.
Château de Bel Air is ideally located for exploring Pomerol, Saint-Émilion, Libourne and the wider Bordeaux wine region, with easy access to some of the most renowned vineyards and wine estates in France.
