Domaine de Lorette — AC, Heated Saltwater Pool with Jacuzzi & Countryside Views near Duras

Domaine de Lorette is an extensive and beautifully presented holiday home of 450 m² with a fabulous outdoor living space, including a private heated pool with an in-built jacuzzi, and a covered area with a kitchen, dining and living area. A short drive to historic towns and villages in SW France.

6 bedrooms, 5 double rooms plus a dormitory, accommodating up to 10 adults and up to 6 children with a maximum of 15 guests in total.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

All double rooms are equipped with a room fan. The children’s dormitory is equipped with air-conditioning. Each bathroom on the ground and upper floors is fitted with a hairdryer.
Ground floor
Bedroom 1: Large 160 cm x 200 cm bed. Located next to a spacious bathroom with a corner bath, separate shower and twin wash-basins. There is a separate WC.
Upper floor
There are 4 beautiful double bedrooms, each with a 160 cm x 200 cm bed, all decorated in calming colours. These 4 bedrooms share 2 stunning shower rooms with rainfall showers, a washbasin and WC.
Top floor
Bedroom 6: A fabulous children’s/teenage dormitory with 5 beds, each measuring 90 cm x 200 cm, set over 2 areas. A shower room with a walk-in shower, washbasin and WC.

Air Conditioning

The dormitory is equipped with air conditioning. All other bedrooms have room fans.

Cleaning, Towels and Linen

Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided and included in the price. Bookings of 2 weeks or more receive a complimentary linen supply each week.

Baby and Toddler Facilities

Up to 3 cots, including linen, a high chair, stair gates and a baby bath can be provided on request.

Kitchen and Utility Room

The beautiful hand-crafted kitchen is well equipped with a Lacanche range oven and gas hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, Magimix Nespresso coffee machine and an electric filter coffee machine. Original features include 2 beautiful stone sinks, exposed stone walls and a feature fireplace.
A separate utility room houses a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.

Living & Dining Area

The large open-plan living area, with views over the pool, features a full-height ceiling and stunning original beams. This cool space incorporates a seating area with a comfortable L-shaped sofa set around an open fireplace with a feature canopy, 45-inch TV with French satellite TV and some English channels, a dining area with a table and chairs seating up to 14 guests, and a fun bar area constructed from original cattle feeding stalls.

Games Equipment

There is a games room with a pool table on the upper floor, a table tennis table outside in the shaded living area and a pétanque court. All equipment is provided.
There is a public tennis court 4.5 km away. Four racquets and tennis balls are provided and must be returned to the house after use.

Private Swimming Pool

12m x 7m heated saltwater pool, protected by a laser alarm system. The in-pool jacuzzi (2.4m x 2.7m) has seating on 3 sides and a depth of 0.9 m.
The pool has a long, wide shallow ledge (3.7 m x 2.4 m) with a depth of approximately 35 cm, ideal for small children or sitting and relaxing. The pool’s overall depth is 1.6m.

Gardens, Outside Space, Walks, a Donkey and a Goat

Fabulous outdoor covered living space with a kitchen with a wood-fired/charcoal BBQ, dining and living area, this over looks the pool area.
Domaine de Lorette is approached via a private drive; there is plenty of parking on the drive and an adjacent unmade track. There is a large formal lawned area to the front, with rural valley views, and a quiet country road running past the side of the house.
At the end of the track you will meet the gorgeous, friendly donkey, Caramel, and a shy goat that live in the field above. They are looked after by the owners of Domaine de Lorette, who live just across the valley.
The unmade track leads up into a wooded area and to the top of the hill, where there are vines with hilltop views of the surrounding countryside. Follow the walk to the owner’s original stone-built windmill, which is not accessible to guests. It’s an excellent short walk, shaded in the wooded section and full of wildlife and woodland plants. You have a good chance of seeing deer at dawn and dusk.

What to do in the Area and Beyond

Monsegur (11 km) is a 13th-century bastide town set on the River Dropt with a good selection of amenities, including a supermarket, café-bars, restaurants, independent shops and a community-run cinema with some screenings in English. There is a weekly market every Friday morning and a weekly summer night market in July and August.
There are many towns, villages and castles to explore nearby. Local towns and villages host weekly markets, summer night markets and various festivals throughout the year.
