La Forge is a tastefully decorated 5-star rated holiday home with a heated pool, set in one of the most beautiful villages in the Dordogne, Coly-Saint-Amand. Located in the heart of the medieval village but with rural views and private parking.

The old village forge has been transformed into a holiday home of exceptional charm and quality set in one of the most beautiful villages in France. Located in the heart of the medieval village without being overlooked. Downstairs is a combination of wood and stone with under-floor cooling/heating. Upstairs, parquet flooring, stylish decor and beautiful beams with each room being equipped with air conditioning. Outside the pretty garden has a private heated pool with an electric cover, and a stone terrace that overlooks private parkland. La Forge is in a truly idyllic setting to enjoy a relaxing holiday in the infamous Dordogne.

The nearest restaurant is an easy 1-minute walk through the village, 110m hotellerieabbaye.com. Two further restaurants at nearly Coly, 4km. Restaurants, shops and supermarket in the nearby town of Montignac-Lascaux, 8km. Large supermarkets in Terrasson-Lavilledieu, 12km.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

Each bedroom has its own shower or bath with a separate wc, there is a further guest wc. Hotel-quality bedding, sheets and household linens are provided. Each bedroom has a hairdryer, a TV with French/international satellite channels and a DVD player.

Bedroom 1: Ground floor, a beautiful room accessible for people with reduced mobility, double bed (160 cm x 200 cm) which can be split into 2 single beds, built-in wardrobe. En-suite shower room with walk-in shower, wash basin and WC.

Living space

The ground floor offers open-plan living with a kitchen and dining area, and the living room is set around a stone fireplace. There is satellite TV as well as high-speed Wi-Fi and a good 4G phone signal.
The well-equipped kitchen has granite worktops, an induction hob (3 rings) with extractor hood, fridge freezer, single electric oven, Nespresso coffee machine and coffee filter, dishwasher, juicer, kettle, toaster, Magimix food processor, pressure cooker, steamer and a microwave.

In addition, there is a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, and a separate guest WC.

Outside and garden

Two terrace areas, one being the pool area and a second with views over a grass area and meadow towards woodland, West facing being ideal for those sunsets.
From the second terrace, you have access to a very large lawned area, this space is owned by this and another 2 neighbouring villas, all having the same owner, this lawn runs the entire length of these properties, La Source and Hermitage.

Parking

Private allocated parking spaces for 2 cars outside of the property on the road (maybe 3 but depends on the size of the vehicles). In the village, there is additional free parking and a fast charging station for electric cars.

Coly-Saint-Amand and the local area

La Forge is set in the village of Coly-Saint-Amand and is classified as being one of the most beautiful villages in France and is built mainly of pretty, yellow-stone buildings reminiscent of the Cotswolds. Located in the south of the Dordogne, this charming village has a tourist information office, a fortified church alongside the remains of an old abbey, a Salon de Thé and a shop selling regional produce. There is also a public tennis court and an electric car fast charge point. During July and August, there is a night-time gourmet market every Tuesday evening.

There are 2 good restaurants in Coly where you can enjoy the gastronomic experiences that the Perigord region offers Manoir d’Hautegent, 4km and La Table de Jean, 3km.
