We were a family of four, but all adults. It was a perfect location for a short walk to two great local restaurants and nearby chateau. It was a perfect location for exploring the area. We were met by the owners on arrival who were warm and welcoming, they had messaged beforehand and made communication really easy. The gite was exactly as it looked on the website and the ambience was just perfect. We will definitely be recommending it to friends and we all want to return. Merci beaucoup à Vanessa et Cyril! A bientôt!

Stayed here for a week in July with our four teens. Great spacious house with lovely pool and garden. Owner was very helpful and friendly. Lovely views over the vineyards, easy walk to Château Monbazillac and village. Enjoyed the evening markets and exploring the local area, canoeing, cycling and sightseeing. Only negative was lack of AC on ground floor as weather was exceptionally hot. All in all a great find !

Fantastic property in a small village. Owners were amazing and helpful and it was a great location to base yourself to explore this region. The night market was brilliant and could be walked to from the property and we would certainly return with the family again.
Chez Mamie is almost the perfect holiday destination.
Everything has been very well thought through. The rooms are nicely designed and the bathrooms are spacious and modern.
The kitchen has everything you need and is well appointed.
6 adults and two kids had the best holiday we can
Remember. We loved the garden and hardly used the inside but when we did it
Was comfortable and welcoming. There were games to play too!
Fabulous modern home with lots of space, comfortable beds, wonderful views, hot tub and pool!

Excellent property

This is an excellent property, accurately described in the listing, all equipment and furnishings of a very high standard. The friendliness and support given by the owners on arrival and throughout our stay was greatly appreciated. There was a problem with the hot tub which was remedied immediately, but apart from that, we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The village is quiet, yet there is a Sunday morning market, several opportunities for wine tasting and the local restaurant, La Maison Vari, is delightful. The pool, hot tub, BBQ and garden are so lovely, however, that one is reluctant to venture out. Having said that, old Bergerac and surrounding towns and villages are well worth visiting for their medieval architecture.
Fantastic Modern House in a Great Location
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We were met by the owners (Cyril & Vanessa) at the property, they showed us around and explained how to use all the facilities. This is required as the house is very new with state of the art equipment levels including remote controlled blinds and windows, a hot tub, and modern kitchen.
The house is extremely well designed with plenty of space inside and out. It was spotless when we arrived and as it is almost brand new well maintained.
They suggested that on Sunday we should go to a nearby town (Issigeac) where there is a market. It was huge so be prepared to park on the approach roads. Loads of local produce with stalls occupying nearly the entire village.
In the Summer Monbazillac has an evening market one night a week as do many of the surrounding towns. This is well worth a visit, lots of food, wine, trestle tables and friendly people.
Cyril suggested going for a wine tasting at the vineyard you can see in the pictures, this was fun and not at all daunting as some of the chateau visits can be. There was no pressure to buy and certainly no pressure to purchase the more expensive wines.
It is worth keeping a look out for special events, we went to a local producers night at a vineyard in the village, similar to the night market, again with local food and lots of wine, sat at trestle tables amongst the vines.
We found it a good base for the beautiful area and will certainly consider a return visit. There is a huge amount to see and do, and we only scratched the surface.
Wonderful stay in a beautifully renovated modern home! Great area, lots to do and lovely restaurants. Short walk into Monbazillac, and delicious fresh bread delivered to the property most days!
