Gite du Taureau

Gite du Taureau is a 3-bedroom holiday home renovated to a high standard with a private pool and the added benefit of a ground-floor bedroom and shower room with wc. All bedrooms and the open-plan living area are air-conditioned. 2 km from Monsegur, SW France.

This beautifully restored former dairy farm is a serene and secluded oasis just a stone’s throw from bustling village life. Nestled among ancient stone walls and surrounded by nature, this unique property offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern luxury. The owners live next door in a separate property and whilst respecting guest’s privacy, are on hand to assist if required.

3 bedrooms for up to 10 guests with flexible sleeping with a sofa bed in bedroom 1 and a mezzanine in bedroom 3.

2 shower rooms each with a wc, plus an additional separate wc.

Bedrooms and bathrooms

2 hairdryers are provided.

Bedroom 1: Ground floor large double room (bed measures 180 cm x 200 cm). Wardrobe and storage drawers. Sofa bed (140 cm x 190 cm). En-suite shower, twin wash basins and a wc. A large door opens onto the terrace overlooking the pool.

Bedroom 2: Upper floor double room (bed measures 160 cm x 200 cm) with a wardrobe and storage drawers.

Above is a fun mezzanine for extra sleeping, with a double mattress (160 cm x 200 cm). Protected by a trap door, there is a low ceiling and access by a sturdy wooden ladder. Not suitable for young children.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a shower room with a wash basin and a wc (located on the upper floor). A further 3rd separate wc is located on the ground floor.

Cleaning, towels and linen

Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided and included in the price.
A complimentary extra supply of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for bookings of 2 weeks or more.

Baby and toddler facilities

Two travel cots (including linen) and a high chair can be provided on request. Please note there are no stair gates.

Air conditioning

The bedrooms and open-plan living space are fitted with reversible air-conditioning.

Open plan living

The lounge, kitchen and dining space offer views of the shady terrace and surrounding countryside. There is a corner sofa and SMART TV for guests to access streaming platforms via their accounts. The dining table can accommodate up to 10 people.

Kitchen

The kitchen is compact and well-equipped with a dishwasher, electric oven with grill, 3-ring induction hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, and coffee makers (Bosch Tassimo & Krups Dolce Gusto).

There is a washing machine, iron & ironing board.

Outside terrace and garden

The large, shaded terrace is the perfect space for alfresco dining and the landscaped grounds offer plenty of places to relax or play games including darts, football, giant Mikado, and Giant Connect 4. The owner also offers guests complimentary fresh vegetables from the garden.

Private swimming pool

10m x 5m chlorine pool with corner steps is protected by an alarm. Inflatable toys are provided.

What to do in the area and beyond

Monsegur is a 13th-century bastide town set on the river Dropt with a good selection of amenities including a supermarket, cafe bars, restaurants, independent shops, a community-run cinema also showing VO version original films. A weekly market every Friday morning and a weekly summer night market. A popular Boulangerie/Patisserie, La Choco Latine sells artisan bread, patisserie, chocolates and ice cream.
