Featured in France magazine, Jubin has a private secure swimming pool and walks through the owners award winning vineyard. Situated between Bordeaux, Bergerac and Saint Emilion near the border of the Dordogne in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region of south west France.
Jubin is a large stone barn conversion dating back to the 19th century and has been completely renovated to a very nice standard. This authentic house is set over 220m2 with large rooms, southern exposure and a warm atmosphere.
* The pool can be secured with a retractable glass cover which acts as a safety feature as well as helping to heat the water.
Situated on a privately owned, award winning Bordeaux wine estate, the vines are open to the garden and guests are free to walk in the quiet surroundings. The charming owners are happy to offer a tour of how the wine is made and of course have a taste! The wine estate tasting rooms are just 5 minutes drive from the house.

Kitchen and dining area
Large farmhouse style kitchen with dishwasher, large electric oven with grill and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee maker. Dining table and chairs comfortably seating 10 people.
Laundry area with washing machine, tumble dryer, iron/ironing board and washing line.
The large lounge is set around an original feature stone fireplace and has double height ceilings, TV with French and English channels (English channels are through the Wi-Fi) DVD player, Hi-Fi as well as a selection of books to read. The lounge looks over the front terrace though large feature doors. An elevated area is home to a pool table. Underfloor heating (payable as an extra based on usage).
Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided and included in the price.
There are a couple of hairdryers.
Enjoy alfresco eating on the patio overlooking the pool and vines. BBQ, stone table and matching benches under a canopy providing shade from the sun. There is lots of outside space for games including table tennis and a boules court. Guests also have the entire wine estate to walk through the vines.
Private Secure Pool
The wonderful 10m x 5m pool is 1.5m deep with walk-in steps in one corner to allow easy access. A retractable glass cover over the pool acts as a safety feature as well as helping to heat the water.
A sun terrace and loungers provide a lovely space to relax around the pool with views over the garden and vines.
Set just 4 miles from the fortified town of Sainte Foy La Grande, Jubin has all of the amenities you require on it’s doorstep including butchers, bakers, cafe’s, restaurants and supermarkets, not to mention the fantastic weekly market on a Saturday morning which is a great place to purchase local produce. There is a large E. Leclerc and Lidl at Pineuilh 3.5 miles.
A little further a field (25 minutes) you will find the XIII century bastide towns of Monsegur (33), Duras (47) and Castillon-la-Bataille (33), all towns have a comprehensive supermarket and petrol station. The stone vaulted market square of Monsegur is host to restaurants, cafés, bars, boulangerie, pharmacie, banks with ATM’s, pizzeria with weekly live music, supermarket, weekly traditional French market and a night market during the summer. Duras also has a weekly night market. The famous towns of Bergerac and St Emilion are also just a 30 minute drive and are a must see during your stay.
There are many festivals and events throughout the region including the annual Jazz festival held in early July in Monsegur.

The local area and what to do, Monsegur / Duras, Bordeaux and the Dordogne, France
Situated in the beautiful region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine area and on the border of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne and is considered to be one of the most picturesque areas of France. Bordeaux is approximately just over an hour drive to the west and Bergerac is 30 minutes to the east and the infamous St Emilion is just 25 minutes drive.

The Dordogne is just one of the many places to visit for day trips. Anything from Canoeing or boat trips on the Dordogne river to exploring ancient villages.

Both Monsegur and Duras also have night markets during the summer where you can eat and have a drink as well as browse the many stalls.

A fresh water lake with sandy beach at Blasimon is just 34km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a safe, fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake.
Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 143km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself by feasting on fresh seafood around the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine.

Yes we believe chocolate is also an activity… we often have to visit and make sure the quality is up to standard so we can continue to recommend this.
Maison Guinguet gourmet chocolate, they have a very nice shop to visit next to their artisan factory, 16km near Duras.
Public tennis courts
Tennis courts are located in Monsegur, Duras & St Sernin de Duras and are usually booked via the local tourist information office.
Canoeing and kayaking
Canoe hire is available on the rivers. The river Dropt winds through the valley with a slow flow on it.
The Dordogne river at Sainte Foy has a faster pace but has plenty of canoe hire opportunities and literally just go with the flow and be picked up further down stream. Of course the easiest way is a boat trip and let some one else do the work.

There are many pay and play golf courses within the area, the best being the beautiful Chateau Des Vigiers Golf and Country Club. The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set in 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine restaurant and relaxing beauty spa.

Aqualand water park is 133km located at Bassin D’Arcachon.
