Beautiful and spacious stone-built house with a heated salt pool, 6 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, 2km from the village of St Sernin with restaurant and tennis courts, 9km from the historic town of Duras.

La Bique has been awarded a 5-star rating by Atout France for furnished holiday rentals and offers a contemporary holiday home with generous proportions throughout, luxurious bathrooms and modern conveniences including high-speed Fibre Broadband, all set in a countryside location. The vast open-plan living area is the hub of the home with pocket doors that open out onto the decked sun terrace around the pool with countryside views beyond.

The local village, St Sernin centre is 2 km away (1.2 miles), a 25-minute walk along a quiet country lane. In the village is the nearest restaurant ‘La Grange’. There is also a Tabac and public tennis courts. On certain dates in the height of summer, there is a traditional night market.

The historical town of Duras is 9km away with restaurants and shops. The famous town of Bergerac is just 35km.

A wonderful location to explore the Bordeaux / Bergerac wine regions.

All 6 bedrooms have room fans, a USB charging plug and a hair dryer. There are a total of 7 bath/shower rooms all with a WC.

2 wooden baby cots (bedding provided), 1 high chair, a changing mat and a potty are all provided. Please pre-book in advance.

Cleaning, towels and linen

Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided and included in the price.
A complimentary extra supply of bed linen and bath towels will be provided for bookings of 2 weeks or more.

Mezzanine office

Mezzanine space with a desk, chair and printer. An ideal spot to work from home whilst away if you need to. High-speed Fibre Broadband indicative speeds: Download 56.87 Mb/s. Upload is 63.26 Mb/s.

Kitchen

Gas and electric hob, x2 electric ovens one also being microwave and grill. Kettle, toaster. 2 Cafetieres, Tassimo pod coffee machine. Dishwasher.
The main dining room is next to the kitchen, there is also an exterior table and chairs set just outside the dining room.
There is a gas BBQ and also a charcoal BBQ situated by the outside dining table.

Dining room

Separate dining room next to the kitchen seating 12 guests. There is an additional table and chairs in the open-plan living area, and a further dining table and chairs are outside.

Utility room

Separate utility room with a washing machine, clothes tumble dryer and a sink.

Open-plan living space

A grand open plan space which has 3 defined areas, a TV lounge area around the feature fireplace, an informal dining area and an informal chill-out seating area with a small table tennis table and views out to the terrace and pool.
The TV area has 3 sofas and a large-screen smart TV with English-speaking channels, Netflix is enabled so guests can log into their accounts to view content.

Outside and garden

A large garden set over almost 2 acres surrounds the property.
An exterior table and chairs seating 12 for alfresco dining are located just outside the kitchen along with a gas/charcoal BBQ.

Private heated saltwater swimming pool

The heated saltwater pool measures 10m x 4.5m and at a depth of 1m – 1.5m. There is one large step idea for sitting on, 5mx1m and 32cm deep. 3 steps lead into the pool, depths are 15cm, 45cm, 75cm and then 1m in the shallow end (all measurements are approximate). Pool security is by way of a pool alarm.
There are 12 sun beds and some parasols for shade.

Electric car charger and private parking

The driveway entrance has electric gates and private off-road parking for several cars.

EV electric plugin facility for electric car charging is available at an additional cost of £50 per week per car, please pre-book in advance. This is a dedicated fitted car charger, please bring your own plug-in cable, type 2.

A bike hire service is provided by Bike Hire Direct who can deliver bikes to La Bique.

Private catering and gastronomic experiences can be booked through Loving Aquitaine.

A shopping service is available via the house manager at an additional charge, please book at least 7 days in advance.

There are many towns, villages and castles to explore on your doorstep. The local towns and villages host weekly markets as well as summer night markets and various festivals throughout the year. More information on what’s on locally is in the “Local Area” tab above.
