We have been coming to France for family holidays for the past 10 years, and La Chartreuse is the best property we have stayed at. The property is set in beautiful grounds which are quiet and secluded. The pool is stunning and in a gorgeous setting. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped – we had everything we needed.
La Chartreuse is situated in an ideal location to explore the Dordogne – Bergerac to the south, Périgueux to the north and Sarlat to the east are all easily accessible.
On top of this, Susan and Hervé were perfect hosts. Unobtrusive yet also on hand to provide information and insight to help us make the most of our time in the Dordogne.

May 2019

Our 8th summer holiday in a row in this stunning gîte ! Lots on offer in the area to please everyone in the family, and our four kids can’t get enough of the fabulous infinity pool. We’ll be back next year !

Summer 2018

A great week in a great property. Together with our daughter, son-in-law and their three children, we had a lovely stay at La Chartreuse. It is an interesting and comfortable old property in a beautiful setting, with far-reaching views. And of course the children loved the fabulous pool, kept immaculately clean by Hervé.
Susan and Hervé are very welcoming hosts, living in the adjacent property. They offered useful advice on what was on in surrounding villages and where to find good restaurants. We made good use of the BBQ and wide range of sporting equipment (table tennis, badminton and a boules set).

Summer 2018

We enjoyed a lovely week at La Chartreuse – the property was clean and well maintained, the owners in separate own accommodation helpful but discreet. The pool was undoubtedly the best we have experienced – and we have been coming to the area in different properties for some years. We definitely hope to return to La Chartreuse, hopefully next year if circumstances permit.
