Le Galice comprises two neighbouring 3-bedroom holiday gites for up to 12 guests, with a shared heated 11m x 5m pool, hot tub, games barn, lake and peaceful countryside setting near Duras and Monsegur.
Set in a tranquil rural location with lovely countryside views, Le Galice is surrounded by extensive grounds with walks through the gardens, woodland and around the lake.
The pool is shared with the welcoming and discreet owners, Catherine and Laurent, who live on site with their friendly Collie, Jango, a cat, chickens and goats. They are available if required during your stay while respecting guests’ privacy.
Le Galice comprises two neighbouring renovated farmhouses, Grand Galice and Petit Galice, both offering comfortable modern accommodation while retaining the character of the original buildings.

Bedroom 3: Twin bedroom with 2 single beds (90cm wide each), plus a mezzanine level with a double bed (140cm wide). Room fan and electric radiator.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a spacious shower room with walk-in shower, washbasin and WC.

Petit Galice accommodates up to 6 guests, including children aged 18 months and over.

Bedroom 2: Twin bedroom with 2 single beds (90cm wide each) and a wood-panelled feature wall. Electric radiator.

Shower Room: Walk-in rainfall shower and washbasin. A washing machine is also located in this room.
There is a separate WC.

There are no stair gates.
There are only a few steps around the properties, apart from those leading to the mezzanine in Grand Galice Bedroom 3.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided.
Average speeds are approximately 30Mbps download and 6Mbps upload. As this is a rural location, speeds may vary.
Cleaning, Towels and Linen
Bed linen and bath towels are included in the price.
Pool towels are available on request.
Gardens and Lake
The extensive grounds surrounding the properties enjoy beautiful, unspoilt countryside views.
A pleasant woodland walk leads to the lake, where seating areas provide a peaceful place to relax and watch wildlife. Deer may occasionally be seen in the surrounding woods.
Fishing is available in the lake, which contains several species of fish.
There is also a purpose-built boules court for guests.
Shared Heated Swimming Pool & Hot Tub
The 11m x 5m heated chlorine swimming pool is shared with the owners.
A straw hut and parasols provide shade around the pool.
The pool is open and heated from 1 May to 30 September.
Complimentary use of the hot tub is included in the price.
The hot tub accommodates up to 4 people and is available throughout the year except during July and August.
Pool towels are available on request.
Games Barn
The large games barn provides a shared space for guests staying in both gites, with plenty of seating and dining space, table tennis and table football.
It can also be used as an entertaining space for private gatherings.
Dog Friendly
A maximum of 2 dogs may be accepted on request at an additional charge of €50 per dog, together with an additional €250 security bond.
Dogs are not permitted in the bedrooms, on soft furnishings or in the swimming pool, and owners must clean up after their dogs.
What to do in the area and beyond
Le Galice is near Duras 6km and Monsegur 15km, in the Bordeaux wine region close to the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne.
Both historic bastide towns have weekly markets, restaurants, cafés, bars, pharmacies, banks, shops and boulangeries.
Popular summer night markets are also held during peak season, combining local food, music and entertainment.
A Carrefour supermarket and petrol station can be found in Duras 6km away, with further supermarkets in Monsegur and larger stores in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande 18km away.

No booking fee.
A 25% deposit secures a reservation, with the balance payable 8 weeks before rental commencement.
A €1,000 security bond is pre-authorised against a credit card 7–10 days before arrival and released after departure, subject to a satisfactory inspection.
An additional €250 security bond applies to bookings with dogs.

Le Galice is situated near Duras 6km and Monsegur 15km, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and close to the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne.
Bergerac is approximately 36km away, Saint-Émilion 50km and Bordeaux city centre around 90km.

Everything about Galice was perfect; the two houses together suited us all perfectly for my 70th celebrations! Laurent & Catherine were charming and they did everything to make our visit a success. The houses are well equipped and tastefully furnished – much of it Laurent’s own work. the games room was an unexpected bonus. The pool, with its shallow step, was perfect for the grandchildren learning to swim. Laurent maintained and cleaned the pool regularly. The walk around the lake, the boulodrome and the trampoline all had good use and the owners’ house is far enough away so that none of our activities seemed to disturb them. For those wanting an early morning walk or even a run the little roads around suited the energetic ones in our family. We made the most of the fete in Duras and Catherine was kind enough to advise us on suitable activities and outings for the grandchildren. We will be returning very soon.
Galice was a little corner of paradise. The pictures do not do it justice. Catherine and Laurent were delightful and so very helpful. The gite is perfectly equipped and perfectly finished. Ideally located to explore the amazing countryside. Lots for families to see and explore. The pool is amazing and the barn is a great addition for keeping everyone entertained. We really enjoyed our stay.
