Les Couronneaux is a luxury 4 bedroom French holiday home with a private swimming pool and stunning countryside views, near Bordeaux, Bergerac and Saint Emilion in south west France.
The ancient towns of Monsegur (6km) and Duras (8km) have a good selection of restaurants, bars, shops and weekly markets.
3.2km via country lanes to the village of Dieulivol where there is a cafe bar which serves drinks and light snacks, by special request they can create a BBQ meal for you, you can also buy ice cream or a bottle of local wine.
Daily fresh bread from the post office or from the cafe bar on Sunday’s by request. There is an ancient church with stunning views over the valley.
300 metres to the nearest vineyard with wine tasting.
1km to a zip wire tree adventure and climbing park, great for kids of all ages (including adults!)
The entire property and all facilities are for your exclusive use during your stay.
Gorgeous formal living/dining room with sofa’s set around a feature fireplace. There is a formal dining space for 8 people with French doors looking out onto the dining terrace. 55″ Oled 4K TV with cinematic soundbar and subwoofer, HD Blu-ray /DVD player. Denon hi-fi system.
Next to this room is a snug with a wood burning stove with has a large selection of puzzles, board games, X-box and Wii.
The high end kitchen has pale cream cupboards and black marble worktops. There is a central island with cupboards underneath, a 5 ring gas hob with extractor above, 2 built-in electric ovens, microwave, large fridge, double sink, kettle, toaster, dining table (seats up to 8 people) and a seating area with views over the pool and countryside.
A separate utility room off of the main entrance porch has a washing machine, iron and ironing board and an additional fridge freezer. There is a washing line in the garden.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
A hairdryer and fan is provided for each bedroom.
Bedroom 1: Beautiful master bedroom with super king size bed (180cm x 200cm). Twin aspect windows with views over the valley , en-suite bathroom with bath, walk in shower and a wc.
Bedroom 2: Pretty twin room (2 single beds 90cm x 190cm each) with views of the front garden and valley beyond. Shared family shower room and wc.
Bedroom 3: Double bedroom with king size bed (160cm x 200cm) views of the front garden and valley beyond. Shared family shower room and wc.
Bedroom 4: Twin room (2 single beds 90cm x 190cm each) with views to the side of the house. Shared family shower room and wc.
A further shower room and wc are located at the bottom of the stairs on the ground floor.
A travel cot, highchair and 2 stair gates can be provided on request. Please provide your own cot linen.
Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided and included in the price.
A complimentary extra supply of bed linen will be provided for bookings of 2 weeks or more. Additional cleaning can be arranged at 15€ per person per hour and is payable directly to the house manager.
The private chlorine pool measures approximately 9.7m x 4m and is between 1m sloping to 1.9m deep. There are wide walk-in steps at one end and the whole pool is surrounded by a sun terrace with 8 loungers, 3 parasols and has an alarm.

Located in the heart of the Bordeaux famous wine region where there are plenty of vineyards for tastings and tours. There are many picturesque towns in the region, nearest are Saint Foy La Grande, Saint Emilion, Duras and Monsegur with restaurants, café bars, shops and the beautiful historical countryside for you to explore.
Coast & Beach
A fresh water lake with sandy beach at Blasimon is just 22km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a safe, fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake.
The famous sandy bay at Arcachon (146km) with Europes tallest sand dune, Dune du Pilat. This is the start of a 150 mile long sandy beach south past Biscarosse, or while the day away meander your way around Arcachon and enjoy a relaxing lunch in one of the many French restaurants.

The local area and what to do, Monsegur / Duras, Bordeaux and the Dordogne, France
Les Couronneaux is situated near the towns of Monsegur (6km) and Duras (8km) in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and on the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne, France.
Bordeaux city centre is a 70km drive to the west and Bergerac is 47km to the east, Saint Émilion 40km north.
This is the ideal base from which to explore South West France. Located in the region of Aquitaine on the 3 borders of Gironde / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne and is considered to be one of the most picturesque areas of France.
This region is famous for its wines and wonderful gastronomy. Whether you are in St. Emilion, Pomerol, Blaye, The Médoc, Entre Deux Mers, Bourg, Graves or Sauterne the wines of the region are without doubt some of the very best in the world!
There are local producers near this holiday home that offer very good quality produce at a very reasonable price.
The gently rolling countryside is a pleasure to explore, with excellent roads winding their way through fields and vineyards. Perfect cycling country!
Monsegur and Duras are ancient Bastide towns set around a market square which are host to weekly markets and also a weekly night market during the peak summer season. There is a good selection of shops including cafes, bars and a pizzeria which host’s weekly live music.
There is also Cinema Eden in Monsegur, which does show international films in their original language version (VO), a selection of English speaking films with French subtitles.
The market squares are also hosts the many festivals and events throughout the year.
Wine and Gastronomy
So many Vineyards and wine tastings in the area, the nearest are:
300 metres / 3 minutes walk, tasting available, the sparkling is a good option.
350 metres / 4 minutes walk good table wine and rose, ideally by the box, buy direct only, part of the Accrobranche park.
The Bordeaux wine region has 21 appellations. Visit some of the many local Caves and Chateau who offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two.
Not to be missed is the world famous St Emilion 50km. A designated world heritage site and is truly stunning. Explore characteristic narrow lanes lined with wine merchants, cafes, restaurants and interesting independent shops. A guided tour of the monolithic church is highly recommended.

This designated world heritage site is a must for all visitors. This cosmopolitan city offers a diverse range of attractions. The golden triangle has a fabulous range of shops for those shopaholics.
A rich variety of architecture forms the backdrop for the street cafe’s, restaurants, bars and not forgetting the superb Grand Theatre.
The Dordogne is just one of the many places to visit for day trips. Anything from Canoeing or boat trips on the Dordogne river to exploring ancient villages.

Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 135km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself by feasting on fresh seafood around the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine.
Cycling, Bike hire
The countryside around our properties is perfect for cycling, whether it’s just a gentle ride around to explore or, if you are a keen cyclist, a long training ride on fantastic stretches of road to get the blood pumping whilst taking in the fantastic views.

Yes we believe chocolate is also an activity… we often have to visit and make sure the quality is up to standard so we can continue to recommend this.
Maison Guinguet gourmet chocolate, they have a very nice shop to visit next to their artisan factory. 2km from Duras.
Public tennis courts
Tennis courts are located in Monsegur, Duras and St Sernin de Duras and are usually booked via the local tourist information office.
Canoeing and kayaking
Canoe hire is available on the rivers. The river Dropt winds through the valley with a slow flow on it.
The Dordogne river at Sainte Foy has a faster pace but has plenty of canoe hire opportunities and literally just go with the flow and be picked up further down stream. Of course the easiest way is a boat trip and let some one else do the work.

There are many pay and play golf courses within the area, the best being the beautiful Chateau Des Vigiers Golf and Country Club 26km. The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set in 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine restaurant and relaxing beauty spa. Most villages and towns hold weekly markets full of fresh and interesting local produce. An ideal place to pick up your holiday mementoes and gifts.
Both Monsegur and Duras also have night markets during the summer where you can eat and have a drink as well as browse the many stalls.
Duras: Every Monday from 8.30 to 14:00 (closes at 12:00 from September to June). Nice market, excellent Organic veg’s & fruit producer. Excellent organic goat cheese producers too… Foie gras, Magrets and many other stands of food/non food.
Allemans du Dropt (18km): Every Sunday morning.
Sainte Foy La Grande (25km): Every Saturday from 8.30 to 12:00. Quite big market with excellent producers.
Monségur: Every Friday from 8.30 to 12. Nice small market with a good fish stall and butcher.
Issigeac (49km): Every Sunday morning.
Eymet (28km): Every Thursday morning.
From 1st of July till End of August, very successful, where you can eat and dance, with many craft and food stands. Go early if you want to park close to the village.
Duras (8km) Night market: Every Thursday evening till end of August.
Lévignac de Guyenne (12km) Night market: Every Friday evening till end of August.
Monsegur (6km) Night market. Every Wednesday evening till mid of September.
