“We had a wonderful stay in Les Volets Rouge. The accommodation was beautiful and the pool was fabulous. We had everything we needed and more. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend the accommodation or Holiday Cottages and Villas, who were extremely efficient and helpful. I will certainly be booking with them again.”
The Tookes, July 2016

“Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had a lovely relaxing holiday. The kids loved the pool and we could barely tear them away for dinner; though it wasn’t more than 2 minutes walk to the village restaurant which we went to 3 times it was so good! The surrounding area is truly stunning. Best wishes”

The Ward family, August 2015

“As a family we are very grateful for your professional and ‘extra mile’ support in enabling us to take this holiday. As you know my wife Gemma had just had an operation and we didn’t think it would be possible to go away. Your speedy and ‘can do’ approach accompanied by a brilliant accommodation solution really made our summer.

The house itself, Les Volets Rouge, was in essence perfect for myself, my wife and our two children’s holiday this summer. Being situated within the village of St Sernin meant we could get to know a few neighbours, have easy access to a shop with the essentials (1 minute walk), enjoy the village restaurant and have a very short (less than 10 min) drive to the nearby Duras when we needed a supermarket, night market and a beautiful Bastide town to explore.
The house is absolutely full of character both in terms of being a very well restored old, thick stone walled French cottage whilst also being brought to life by the enchanting decor by the English owner. The pool was a brilliant size with still ample sitting, eating and barbecuing space around it. Practically speaking the two bedrooms were an ideal size for our family and the house was well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

We would very happily return to this house for another holiday – hopefully sooner rather than later. Thanks to the owner Wendy as well as Tracy from Holiday Cottages and Villas for enabling a brilliant family holiday. Warm regards,”
Adam, Gemma, Hope and Thea Bonner, August 2015

‘Lovely house, well equipped, clean and a fabulous swimming pool with a shaded area just by the house, lots of interesting details and artefacts like tiny fairy stained glass windows in the one bedroom, well furnished .The village has a nice shop and there is loads to do in the surrounding area including brilliant French markets. We really enjoyed our stay’.
Salie H, Devon. September 2014

‘This is an immensely pretty and unique cottage, bedecked with original touches and décor. We had such a resting break in this quiet village only a stone’s throw from the beautiful town of Duras. Our stay was so relaxing: the cottage is amply equipped for self-catering with comfortable beds, a private pool with pool side barbecue/fire and all the facilities we needed. The local tabac , only a stroll from the cottage, proffered fresh croissants and bread each morning, although the local Carrefour supermarket is only a short drive away. The night markets held in surrounding scenic villages are fabulous and a lively treat and can be a great alternative to eating formally in the many restaurants dotted around the area. We will most definitely be back to stay again….!’
Stephanie Cartwright, August 2014

‘We had a marvelous time! Only an hour from Bordeaux and surrounded by gorgeous countryside and charming little towns with wonderful markets, you couldn’t ask for a better location. The house itself is comfortable and cozy and the pool surrounded by an English garden was the place we spent most of our evenings. We would go back in a heartbeat, and intend to do so. Everything about our stay was positive and I can recommend this home and location without reservation.’
