Petit Galice with a shared heated swimming pool* in a beautiful countryside setting, accommodating up to 6 guests over 3 bedrooms.

A relaxing, peaceful location with lovely rural views, the grounds surround the properties with walks around the garden and the lake.

*The pool is shared with the welcoming and discreet owners, Catherine and Laurent, who live on-site with their lovely collection of animals, including Jango, their friendly Collie dog, a cat, chickens and goats. Catherine and Laurent are on hand to assist if required during your stay and are very respectful of guests’ privacy. The pool is also shared with the other 3-bedroom gite (Grand Galice), a great way to make friends on holiday.

Located in the heart of the famous Bordeaux wine region, where vineyards are abundant for tastings and tours. A short drive away are the picturesque towns of Duras (6km) and Monsegur (15km), and the local Chateau and countryside are perfect for exploring. Weekly farmers’ markets are held in most towns and villages, as well as popular night markets in the peak summer months. Petit Galice is situated in a tranquil, countryside location in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine appellation and on the border of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne.

Petit Galice is a renovated farmhouse offering 85 m2 of modern accommodation whilst retaining the charm of the original building.

Bedroom 1: Spacious room with a wood-panelled feature wall. Large double bed (160cm wide). Electric radiator.

Bedroom 2: Cosy twin room (each bed 90cm wide) with a wood-panelled feature wall. Electric radiator.

Bedroom 3: Spacious room with a wood-panelled feature wall. Large double bed (160cm wide). Electric radiator.

Shower room: Walk-in rainfall shower and a washbasin. The washing machine is located in this room.

Children Facilities

A cot and high chair can be provided upon request. Please provide your own bed linen for the cot.

Countertop mini-oven, 4-ring halogen hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster, Cafetiere, Krups Dolce Gusto coffee machine.

A covered terrace with a dining table and chairs, offering views over the grounds; lovely for alfresco dining.

Games barn

Shared by the 2 gites, the games barn has plenty of seating, table tennis and table football.

Garden and lake

A pleasant walk takes you down to the lake hidden in the woods with several seating areas to sit and watch the wildlife. If you are still and very quiet, you might be lucky and see deer. The lake has many fish species for fishing.

A purpose-made boules court is good fun for adults and children.

Heated swimming pool

The 11m x 5m heated chlorine pool is shared by the 2 gites and with the owners, an excellent way for families to make friends whilst on holiday. A straw hut and parasols provide shelter from the summer sun.

**Complimentary use of the hot tub is included in the price as follows:
Up to 4 guests: 1 hour per week.
5 – 8 guests: 2 hours per week.
Additional use can be booked and paid for on-site in cash for 50€ per hour. The hot tub accommodates up to 4 people.

What to do in the area and beyond

Situated near the towns of Duras (6km) and Monsegur (15km) in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and on the border of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne.

These picturesque bastide towns are home to weekly traditional French markets where villagers shop for local produce, meet friends, enjoy a coffee and croissant, and watch the world go by. A popular night market is also held each week during the summer months, where street food and entertainment are the backdrop for the evening. Each town offers a good selection of restaurants, cafés, bars, pharmacies and banks, as well as the all-important boulangerie for fresh croissants, crusty bread, handmade chocolates and gifts.

A comprehensive Carrefour supermarket and petrol station can be found at Duras (6km) or Monsegur (15km). Larger hypermarkets are available in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, 18km away.
