Plaisir d’Eymet is an 80 m2, opulent detached holiday lodge with a private heated swimming pool, sauna, and a hammam steam room. The popular historical bastide town of Eymet is just 3 km away and has a traditional weekly farmers market and a selection of restaurants and shops. Set in the Dordogne, SW France.
All facilities are private for guests’ use.
One of 3 neighbouring luxurious lodges, all offering the same facilities but decorated and furnished in unique styles.
There is an additional separate 1 bedroom self-contained annexe without the facilities of the lodges which can be booked if you require additional accommodation. The annexe is located next to Reverie en Perigord.
The lodges are designed as adult-only accommodation, but babies in arms under the age of 18 months are welcome. A baby package including a travel cot, high chair and baby bath can be provided on request.
The lodges are managed by the welcoming and caring owners who live in a neighbouring property, separate from the lodges.
Bedroom and bathroom
Luxury bedroom:
Extra large king-size bed (180 cm wide x 200 cm long). Equipped with air-conditioning (which can be used in reverse as heating if required), a Bluetooth speaker and a Smart TV with over 400 channels in French and English.
A large sliding door opens onto the terrace with panoramic views. The windows and door are fitted with electric shutters and blinds.
Luxury bathroom:
The luxurious bathroom has a feature black and gold bath, a walk-in rainfall shower, two wash basins and an electric towel radiator. Fluffy bathrobes, towels, bath towels, slippers and a hair dryer are supplied for your comfort. Fitted wardrobes are just outside the bedroom next to a separate WC.
Cleaning, towels and linen
Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are included in the price and are changed twice a week.
Kitchen and dining
The well-stocked kitchen is air-conditioned and facilities include a kettle, toaster, citrus press, single electric oven, 4-ring gas hob, built-in microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher (tablets provided), coffee machine (fresh coffee beans provided) and a selection of teas and infusions.
Stunning views from the kitchen with a full-width window and glazed door. The door opens onto a raised terrace with a table and chairs to admire the spectacular views across the neighbouring vineyard, a perfect spot for the morning sun. Steps lead down to the lower terrace.
Office
An office space with a desk and a computer. Wi-Fi throughout. There is also a good 4g mobile signal.
Air conditioning
Air conditioning in the bedroom and kitchen is included. This can be used in reverse to provide heating in cooler months.
Private heated pool
The 7 m x 3.5 m heated pool is accessed via in-pool steps. There are 2 sunbeds, a large parasol and a poolside shower. The property faces southwest so the pool is in the sun all day and stunning sunsets can be enjoyed from the terrace.
The hot tub is open and heated throughout the year.

A fantastic facility is the Spa room with a Steam/Hamman room and a large walk-in shower.
Private Sauna
Just outside the spa room is a Scandinavian-style wooden pod sauna.
Outside terraces, garden and parking
A number of terrace areas, one from the kitchen which leads down to the garden and the pool terrace via steps. There is also a raised terrace from the bedroom with stunning views, an ideal place to sit and enjoy the sunset. The lodge is surrounded by gardens, planted borders and art installations.
The private driveway runs along all 3 lodges and has electric gates. There is off-road parking with a dedicated parking space by the path to the front door. An EV charging plug-point is available for guests to use.

A 25% deposit secures a reservation with the balance payable 8 weeks before rental commencement.
A security bond of €800 is pre-authorised against a credit card 7 – 10 days before arrival and will be cancelled subject to satisfactory inspection after departure.

Plaisir d’Eymet is just 23km from Bergerac. Near the towns of Eymet (3km), Lauzun (10km), Miramont de Guyenne (14km), Duras (23km), Monsegur 33580 31km.
Plaisir d’Eymet is Situated in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in the Dordogne department, southwest France.
Supermarkets:
The nearest large supermarket is Carrefour Contact Eymet, 1 Route de Bretou, 24500 Eymet. 2.6km, 5 minutes drive.
Open Sunday morning until 13:00.
Bordeaux city centre is 119km drive to the west and St Emilion 58km northwest.
This is the ideal base from which to explore South West France. Located in the region of Aquitaine on the 3 borders of Gironde / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne and is considered one of France’s most picturesque areas.
The gently rolling countryside is a pleasure to explore, with excellent roads winding their way through fields and vineyards. Perfect cycling country!
Eymet, Monsegur and Duras are ancient Bastide towns set around a market square that hosts weekly markets and a weekly night market during the peak summer season. There is a good selection of shops including cafes, bars and a pizzeria which hosts weekly live music.
There is also Cinema Eden in Monsegur, which does show international films in their original language version (VO), a selection of English speaking films with French subtitles.
The market squares are hosts to many festivals and events throughout the year.
Wine and Gastronomy
The Bordeaux wine region has 21 appellations. Visit some of the many local Caves and Chateau that offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two.
Not to be missed is the world-famous Saint Emilion, just a short drive away. A designated world heritage site and is truly stunning. Explore characteristic narrow lanes lined with wine merchants, cafes, restaurants and interesting independent shops. A guided tour of the monolithic church is highly recommended.
Dordogne
The Dordogne is just one of the many places to visit for day trips. Anything from Canoeing or boat trips on the Dordogne river to exploring ancient villages.
Bordeaux
This designated world heritage site is a must for all visitors. This cosmopolitan city offers a diverse range of attractions. The golden triangle has a fabulous range of shops for those shopaholics.
A rich variety of architecture forms the backdrop for the street cafes, restaurants, bars and not forgetting the superb Grand Theatre.
Markets
Most villages and towns hold weekly markets full of fresh and interesting local produce. An ideal place to pick up your holiday mementoes and gifts.

Eymet, Monsegur and Duras also have night markets during the summer where you can eat and have a drink as well as browse the many stalls.

Coast, Beach and Water park
A freshwater lake with a sandy beach at Blasimon is just 52km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake.
Aqua Park is 23km located near Bergerac. Beach, canoeing and a water park.
Aqua Fun Park near Casteljaloux is 62km. Park with a huge freshwater lake, picnic benches, walks, facilities, a man-made sandy beach, water sports, kids’ play area…. great for adults of all ages.
Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 172km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself with fresh seafood from the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine.
Chocolate
Yes, we believe chocolate is also an activity, we often have to visit to make sure the quality is up to standard… Maison Guinguet 24km, near Duras. A nice shop to visit, selling chocolate, gifts and offers guided visits to their artisan factory in July and August.
Duras Castle
The famous Chateau de Duras, 23km away. It’s well worth a visit, climb to the top and see the stunning 360-degree vista.
Tea room with gardens
Jardin de Boissona has six little gardens, each with its own character. Outside and inside seating. Known for their teas and delicious cakes. 25km.

Good quality courts are located in Miramont de Guyenne 14km and are usually booked via the local tourist information office.
Canoeing and kayaking
Canoe hire is available on the rivers. The river Dropt winds through the valley with a slow flow on it.
The Dordogne river at Sainte Foy has a faster pace but plenty of canoe hire opportunities and literally just go with the flow and be picked up further downstream. Of course, the easiest way is a boat trip and letting someone else do the work.

There are pay-and-play golf courses within the area, the best being the beautiful Chateau Des Vigiers Golf and Country Club 17km. The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set on 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine restaurant and a relaxing beauty spa.
