Villa Eleonore is a chic townhouse with a private heated pool in a walled, Moroccan Riad-inspired courtyard garden. Conveniently located a short walk to restaurants, shops and a weekly market in the 13th century town of Monsegur, SW France.

Set over 3 floors, the living space is on the ground floor, 3 bedrooms on the 1st floor and bedroom 4 and a TV snug on the top floor. The whole property has been refurbished to a very high standard with modern fittings, insulation, heating for the cooler months and double-glazed windows, whilst keeping original features and charm with wooden beams and exposed stone walls.

Immerse yourself in the typically French town of Monsegur founded in the 13th century by Eleanor of Aquitaine.
The town square is a short walk away and is set around the market hall surrounded by covered stone arcades with shops, cafes, and restaurants. There is also a small yet comprehensive supermarket on the outskirts of Monsegur just 850m from Villa Eleonore.

4 bedrooms and 3 shower rooms

4 bedrooms with a flexible option in the TV snug for extra sleeping space if required.
All bedrooms have a room fan and each shower room has a hairdryer.

First Floor:
Bedroom 1, Chambre Palmier: Accessed via a dedicated staircase and the mezzanine, the master bedroom at the front of the house has an extra large bed (180 x 200cm) and a feature stone fireplace and arched recess with a TV. En-suite shower room with walk-in shower, wash basin and wc.

Bedroom 2, La Chambre des Arbres: Accessed via the main staircase, is a double room with a large bed (160 x 200cm) at the front of the house and elegantly decorated in neutral colours with a feature wall above the bed.

Bedroom 3, La Chambre Ginkgo: Accessed via the main staircase, a double room with a large bed (160 x 200cm) at the back of the house with a balcony overlooking the courtyard and pool. Decorated in a soothing white and green palette with a feature wall above the bed.

Second Floor:
Bedroom 4, La Chambre Douillette: Accessed via the main staircase, 2 single beds (90 x 200cm each) with the added flexibility of a pull-out sofa bed (mattress 80 x 200cm or pulled out is 160 x 200cm).

TV Snug: Large screen TV. A further pull-out sofa bed (mattress 80 x 200cm or pulled out is 160 x 200cm), next to bedroom 4.

Bedrooms 2, 3, 4 and the TV snug share a shower room and a separate wc, situated between rooms 2 and 3 on the first floor. There is a 3rd shower room on the ground floor next to a separate wc.

Baby facilities

One travel cot and a high chair are available on request. Please take your cot linen.

Kitchen

The contemporary kitchen is well stocked with crockery, a dishwasher, an electric oven, an induction hob with 4 rings and a built-in extractor, a microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, Nespresso pod coffee machine, Krups coffee grinder, juicer and a blender.

Utility area

A washing machine and tumble dryer are situated in the ground floor shower room. An iron & ironing board and vacuum cleaner are provided.

Living rooms and dining

The house is set over 3 floors with 3 separate living areas.
The dining room is open to the kitchen with a dining table and chairs seating up to 10 guests.
A stylish living room with a TV on the ground floor has a stone-arched entrance onto a sunken terrace in the courtyard garden. Above the living room on the mezzanine is a seating area which leads to bedroom 1.

The 3 TVs in the house have ORANGE TV boxes and access to Netflix and streaming services through guests’ accounts.

Office Desk

A desk is situated in the dining room. There is high-speed fibre broadband/ Wi-Fi and lots of information about places to visit during your stay. There is also a good mobile phone signal.

Courtyard garden and the private pool

Moroccan Riad-inspired courtyard garden offers a tranquil haven to relax on sun loungers and deck chairs around the private 4.5 x 2.5m heated chlorine pool with an alarm, a seating ledge within the pool on all sides is perfect to sit and relax. The pool depth is 1.4m. The pool is open from April to October.
There is an outside shower next to the pool. The owners have thoughtfully provided 2 life jackets for small children.

An external dining table and chairs provide a lovely space for al fresco dining. A large parasol is provided for shade.

A sunken terrace outside the living room has a rattan-style sofa and chairs and a Weber gas BBQ.

Garage area

There is an additional fridge freezer in the garage area and lots of storage space for cycles or a baby buggy.

Note: the garage is not suitable for parking. There is parking on the street and parking areas around the town. All parking is free.

What to do in the area and beyond

Monsegur is a 13th-century bastide town set on the river Dropt with a good selection of amenities including a supermarket, cafe bars, restaurants, independent shops, and a community-run cinema (showing some films in English). A weekly market every Friday morning and a weekly summer night market each Wednesday. A popular Boulangerie/Patisserie, La Choco Latine sells artisan bread, patisserie, chocolates and ice cream.
