Just returned from this amazing property, ideally located between 2 lovely towns. The owners Matt and Pauline were the perfect hosts although living just next door , we only saw them if WE wanted to know something.
The house was amazingly well equipped, Matt even installed a dart board when we asked if we could bring our own !!
It really is a home from home +++++++
Thoroughly recommend the property, we were a party of 6 adults and a 16 month old and the house was perfect for all.

This was our first family holiday in a while all together. The kiddies loved it we barely left the place because it was so accommodating. The house and facilities are gorgeous and very well maintained. Both myself and my daughter enjoyed cooking there, we all had a go the kitchen is very well equipped and the house is suitable for every occasion. We made full use of the activities provided the area has a lot going for it. With local sites and markets to visit we recommend the Dunes take a picnic and sit and watch the sunset. Beautiful sites to see, we will definitely be going back. Thank you to Pauline and Matt your home is a beautiful haven and has such a good feel about it we will be talking about this holiday in years to come I have hundreds of photos and videos to keep the memory alive until next time xxx

Redman family. August 2018

Awesome holiday rental, superb for families.

Matt and Pauline were superb from the time we arrived until we departed.
Lovely welcome pack of wine cheese bread, Great location as our Son and Family live 10 mins away. We have been to the area over the past 15yrs and this is the best accommodation we have stayed in. The pool and view were outstanding. The bedrooms excellent, and we had a newborn Grandson, so the cot and everything for him was superb. Inside was all you needed to entertain yourselves from pool table, football table and music selection. If you needed anything you only had to ask.
The surrounding area of Duras, Marmande and the many night markets kept us occupied and St Emilion is only an hr away.

We will be staying again.

Steve, Wendy and family. August 2018

We stayed at Gites Les Hirondelles, Caubon-St-Sauveur, in early July 2018 and it is even nicer in real life than on the website/FB. It is beautifully maintained and extremely well-equipped, including plenty of cutlery, crockery, seats, beds etc for babies and toddlers – so it was ideal for a family holiday with friends and small children. The bedrooms are large and the beds very comfortable, with plenty of linen and towels provided. The living area is huge and open plan – comfy sofas, two indoor dining tables, large kitchen, pool table, TV and table football. Outside is absolutely gorgeous – quiet, amazing views, incredible pool with plenty of shallow parts and steps so it’s safer for children too. BBQ is provided and a large outdoor dining table and cosy seating area.

The owners Matt and Pauline are just lovely. Gave us a couple of bottles of wine and essentials on our arrival which was extremely welcome, and were so helpful with local information, making sure nothing was missing in the house, even giving ice lollies to our poorly child to make her feel better! Although they have an adjoining garden, we hardly saw them and they completely respected our privacy.

We would highly recommend this lovely place.

Phillips party. July 2018

Had a most fabulous holiday. Accommodation was superb, pool was lovely and views to compliment.
Thank you to Mat and Pauline.

Beautiful property in great location 5/5

Pauline and Matt have the best place that I have ever stayed in during my many France holidays. The location is superb, overlooking beautiful countryside with great views. The property is very spacious and well equipped. We loved the pool area, good shade when needed, and an excellent salt water pool. There is a lovely outdoor dining area, which we used every evening whether we cooked or enjoyed the BBQ. Bedrooms had very good quality bedding and comfy beds. Pauline and Matt couldn’t do enough to make our stay a great one, beers from Matt, and delicious Parma ham wrapped figs from Pauline. Lots to visit around including Duras for castle and wine festival. You must go and see for yourself!

Superbly Equipped Gite 5/5

I stayed at Matt and Pauline’s excellent gite with family and friends.

From the initial booking, contact has been excellent with regular updates on the Facebook page.

On arrival, Matt and Pauline had provided a welcome pack of local wine, cheese and other goodies, together with an overview of the gite.

The gite is so spacious with three separate sleeping areas and a huge interior area. Everything you could wish for has already been provided – CD player with a huge selection of music, TV with FreeSat and a DVD player, again with a good selection of movies, and a pool table.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent. The outside dining area was used every evening and there was sufficient seating around the large sea water pool. I recommend sitting around the pool on a clear night and marvel at the beauty of the sky.

The gite has the feeling of being isolated yet is just 15 minutes from Marmande and Duras.

Loveliest villa we have stayed in. 5/5

What a great location – so handy for visiting so many beautiful places and a wonderful villa to return to. We really couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome and found it very hard to tear ourselves away from Les Hirondelles. The pool area is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside. Everything you could possibly want in terms of equipment and lots of thoughtful touches. Matt and Pauline have thought of everything. Hope to return!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★

We had such a wonderful holiday here. Matt and Pauline could not have been more welcoming and were on hand should we need anything. However, the villa is completely private and the pool area has an open view of the surrounding countryside. Les Hirondelles has everything you could need to make yourself completely at home and is extremely comfortable and well equipped. Fab location which is handy for getting to many interesting and beautiful places. Heartily recommended!

Robert and Victoria. July 2017

Perfection is an understatement for this gem of a Villa 5/5

Matt and Pauline will go to any lengths to make your stay as close to perfect as is possible. For us they even laid on a heatwave and a pool that was 30c+. We had intended to venture out but with the Villas facilities, the amazing views and such an inviting pool, we didn’t see much of the surrounding area. An amazing chill-out week.

We were 6 adults and a three year old and the Villa had everything we would wish for for a larger group. The bedrooms layout was perfect with each of the double bedrooms having their own private bathroom. One of the doubles, a bathroom and the twin bedded room was self contained, being ideal for a family with small children who would want to be separate but close to their children. There is a breakfast bar, three dinning suits! a great lounge area, terrace eating area, pool and garden area. There is even a quality pool table which distracted us till the early hours of the morning!

Outside you are spoilt for choice with an array of outside seating locations, each enjoying fantastic views across the valley and picture perfect hillside beyond. Whether you prefer sun loungers, a swing hammock, group seating of alfresco dining every option is available to you. You will loose count of the number of house and pool towels they provide you! Whether you like maximum sun or to chill out in the shade there is a perfect spot from sunrise to sun set and you can then still go on and enjoy that 30c+ pool for a midnight swim or move indoors to keep the party or chill-out going. Matt and Pauline have also included a good collection of English books, music CDs, Videos, board games, garden and pool games to keep you entertained.

Being only their second season, everything is new and working well, bathrooms sparkle, the kitchen is well equipped and bedroom linen and towels are quality and fresh.

I can’t promise Matt and Pauline will lay on a heatwave for your stay but I can promise you will not be disappointed with this Villa, it is an absolute gem and we would thoroughly recommend it.

Comfortable Gite with Beautiful Pool 5/5

My husband and I had a very relaxing few days at Les Hirondelles.

The gite was very private, with lovely views from the terrace and gardens.

There was a very inviting and sparkling pool, though at this time of year it was a bit too chilly for us.

We had a great time exploring the nearby bastide villages and towns, with their markets and historical buildings.

Looking forward to returning very soon!
