8m x 4m, 1.5m deep with corner steps.
The pool is open from the beginning of April until the end of October, pool heating is included throughout these dates.
Jacuzzi hot tub
The private Jacuzzi is open all year, situated in its own covered terrace with views.
Garden and the vineyard
La Citadelle is situated next to the main Chateau of the vineyard estate, the Chateau is surrounded by its own vineyard. Enjoy stunning views from the terrace over the vines and the valley below. Feel free to walk through the vines.

Two parking areas, one is covered and an easy flat walk into the villa, the other parking area is down by the petanque court with a flight of steps up to the villa.
A maximum of 2 dogs are considered on request at a charge of £50 each per booking, plus an additional security bond of £250.
You’re welcome to bring your own horse, 30€ per horse per day. The price includes a paddock, a stable for the night, hay and use of the arena and vines for hacking.

Located in the heart of the Bordeaux famous wine region where there are plenty of vineyards for tastings and tours. There are many picturesque towns in the region, nearest are Saint Foy La Grande, Saint Emilion, Duras and Monsegur with restaurants, café bars, shops and the beautiful historical countryside for you to explore.
Coast, Beach and Water park
A fresh water lake with sandy beach at Blasimon is just 27km away and is a popular attraction to take children for a day out. The gently shelving sand provides a safe, fun environment for splashing around and cooling off in the heat of the summer sun. Blasimon lake.
Aqua Park is 25km located near Bergerac.
The famous sandy bay at Arcachon (136km) with Europes tallest sand dune, Dune du Pilat. This is the start of a 150 mile long sandy beach south past Biscarosse, or while the day away meander your way around Arcachon and enjoy a relaxing lunch in one of the many French restaurants.

Our tips on what to do in the area.
La Citadelle is situated near the town of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande 6km. Bergerac (Dordogne) is 30km, Bordeaux is 75km, in the region of Aquitaine on the borders of the Dordogne, Gironde and Lot et Garonne, France.
Bordeaux city centre is a 75km. Bergerac is 30km and Saint Émilion 31km.
An ideal base from which to explore south west France. Located in the region of Aquitaine on the 3 borders of Gironde / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne and is considered to be one of the most picturesque areas of France.
The region is famous for wine and wonderful gastronomy. Whether you are in St. Emilion, Pomerol, Blaye, The Médoc, Entre Deux Mers, Bourg, Graves or Sauterne the wines of the region are without doubt some of the very best in the world! There are local producers nearby that offer excellent quality wines at a very reasonable prices through to the higher end of the market.
The gently rolling countryside is a pleasure to explore, with excellent roads winding their way through fields and vineyards. Perfect walking and cycling country!
There are ancient towns and villages to explore, some are host to weekly markets and also a weekly night market during the peak summer season. You will find a good selection of shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and boulangeries. oOne of our favourites being La Choco-Latine in Monsegur who were runners up in the French TV show “La Meilleure Boulangerie de France” in 2019.
We also love the volunteer run Cinema Eden in Monsegur which shows some international films in their original language version (VOSTF) with French subtitles.
Wine and Gastronomy
There are an abundance of vineyards in the area.
The Bordeaux wine region has 21 appellations. Visit some of the many local Chateau who offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two.
Not to be missed is the world famous Saint Emilion 31km. A designated world heritage site and is truly stunning. Explore characteristic narrow lanes lined with wine merchants, cafes, restaurants and interesting independent shops. A guided tour of the monolithic church is highly recommended.
Wine tasting is available on the estate, private tastings also possible in the villa.
Wine tours, a picnic in a vineyard and cheese and wine pairing evenings are available through local couple Sylvie and Pascal who run Loving Aquitaine.
Wine tours in an air-conditioned vehicle for up to 7 people to hidden chateaux in the world famous St Emilion region.
Off Piste Wine Tours
This designated world heritage site is a must for all visitors. This cosmopolitan city offers a diverse range of attractions. The golden triangle has a fabulous range of shops for those shopaholics.
A rich variety of architecture forms the backdrop for the street cafes, restaurants, bars and not forgetting the superb Grand Theatre.
The Dordogne is just one of the many places to visit for day trips. Anything from canoeing or boat trips on the Dordogne river at Bergerac to exploring the wonderful and pretty ancient villages.

Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 136km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself by feasting on fresh seafood around the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine.
Yes we believe chocolate is also an activity… we often have to visit and make sure the quality is up to standard so we can continue to recommend it.
Maison Guinguet gourmet chocolate, 21km, just outside Duras, there is a lovely shop which also sells gifts and offers guided visits to their artisan factory in July and August.
The famous Chateau de Duras, 20km away, is well worth a visit and if you can muster the energy to climb to the top the stunning 360 degree vista is well worth it.
Tea room with gardens

Dordogne river trips are available on traditional boats in Bergerac with Les Gabarres de Bergerac. 30km.
Cycling and bike hire
The French countryside around this property is perfect for cycling whether it’s just a gentle ride around to explore or, if you are a keen cyclist, a long training ride on fantastic stretches of road to get the blood pumping whilst taking in the fantastic views.

There are many pay and play golf courses within the area, the best being the beautiful Chateau Des Vigiers Golf and Country Club 16km. The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set in 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine restaurant and relaxing beauty spa. Local markets and supermarkets
Most villages and towns hold weekly markets full of fresh and interesting local produce. An ideal place to pick up your holiday mementos and gifts too.
Sainte Foy La Grande (6km): Every Saturday from 8.30 to 12:00. Big market with excellent producers and winner of “Favourite French Market” in 2014 .
Duras (20km): Every Monday from 8.30 to 14:00 (closes at 12:00 from September to June). Nice market with excellent organic fruit and veg, organic goats cheese, foie gras and a selection of other stalls.
Allemans du Dropt (30km): Every Sunday morning.
Monségur (25km): Every Friday from 8.30 to 12. Nice small market with particularly good fish stall.
Issigeac (43km): Every Sunday morning. Extremely popular. Top tip – arrive early!
Eymet (30km): Every Thursday morning. Medieval town.
Th area also has vibrant night markets during the peak summer months grab a bite to eat from one of the stalls and enjoy your food with a drink at one of the bars. There’s usually musical entertainment which creates a lively atmosphere.
