Le Maine is a beautiful 3 bedroom Dordogne holiday home with a private pool and air conditioning, set on an acre of private grounds just 1km from the village of Singleyrac and just 19kms from Bergerac, south west France.
The owners have put a great deal of thought and care into the layout of this holiday home and grounds, providing various different al-fresco areas to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside.
1km away the village offers local facilities including a fantastic boulangerie which also sells milk and a small selection of groceries and a bar.
A larger selection of amenities can also be found at Sigoules (6 kms) including a supermarket, butchers, tabac, doctors and pharmacy. On a Friday night Sigoules comes alive with a Marche Gourmande, an evening of food and entertainment not to be missed! Many local towns and villages host weekly markets selling locally produced fruit and vegetables, fresh fish and meat as well as crafts and gifts.
Please note that whilst there are 2 double beds in bedroom 3 the maximum number of guests is 7.

Bedroom 2 (Upper floor)
Double bedroom (160cm x 200cm) with large wardrobe with hanging space and a large drawer system, next to a modern bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, wc and wash basin.
Bedroom 3 (Ground floor)
Lovely room with 2 double beds (140cm x 190cm). Built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, beamed ceiling and double opening French doors leading to steps and south facing terrace. Next to a separate contemporary shower room with large walk-in shower, wc and twin wash basins.
3 in total, 2 shower rooms and 1 bathroom.

The spacious modern kitchen has a double-height ceiling with sky lights which flood the room with natural light. All of the modern conveniences you could wish for are provided including a dishwasher, washing machine, fantastic wood burning range oven, a further electric oven, 2 electric hobs, halogen oven, microwave, American style fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine and a draft beer dispenser. Dining table with 6 chairs and there is a further dining area next to the kitchen. Double opening French doors lead onto a shaded, south facing terrace – perfect for al-fresco breakfast with fresh croissants and goodies from the local boulangerie. Further French doors lead to a separate dining room and the lounge.

The house is heated by 2 wood burning stoves, one in the living area and one in the kitchen.
There is a ceramic heater on the upstairs landing and all bathrooms have electric towel rails.
Towels and Linen
Bed linen, bath towels and pool towels are provided and included in the price. Booking of 2 weeks or more an additional supply of linen is supplied.
Cot and high chair can be provided on request.
Private 9m x 4m pool The pool has walk-in roman steps at the shallow end with a depth from 7cm, 29cm, 57cm going to a depth of 1.5m at the deep end. Surrounded by a sunny terrace with lots of space to laze in the sun or relax in the roofed shaded seating area.
The pool is not heated but does have a solar cover which helps to increase the water temperature.
Le Maine is set on an acre of grounds which surround the property, there is a private driveway with lots of parking. There is plenty of lawn to run around for games and play football. There are seating areas around the property with plenty of shaded seating and sunny terraces giving you tranquil places to relax.
An array of pretty shrubs and trees all add colour and wonderful scent to the beautiful surrounding countryside. A BBQ with prep area/worktop is perfect for al-fresco dining. Sets of tables and chairs ample for 7 people.
Outside Games & Entertainment
The owners have provided plenty to keep children and adults entertained including table tennis, swing activity set, football goal and ball, badminton & volley ball set. There is also a canopy amidst the vast grounds which offers a tranquil shady spot to relax with a good book, or simply take in the views of the surrounding countryside.

Situated in the Dordogne near the towns of Eymet (14km) and Sigoules (6km) in the region of Aquitaine within the Bordeaux wine region and on the border of the Gironde and Lot et Garonne, France.
Bordeaux city centre is 104km to the west and Bergerac is 17km to the north, Saint Emilion 60km north west.
This is the ideal base from which to explore South West France. Located in the region of Aquitaine on the 3 borders of Gironde / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne and is considered to be one of the most picturesque areas of France.
The gently rolling countryside is a pleasure to explore, with excellent roads winding their way through fields and vineyards. Perfect cycling country!
Eymet, Monsegur and Duras (just to name three of the many local historical towns, these ancient Bastide towns set around a market square which are host to weekly markets and also a weekly night market during the peak summer season. There is a good selection of shops including cafes, bars and a pizzeria which host’s weekly live music.
There is also Cinema Eden in Monsegur, which does show international films in their original language version (VO), a selection of English speaking films with French subtitles.
The market squares are also hosts the many festivals and events throughout the year.
Wine and Gastronomy
The Bordeaux wine region has 21 appellations. Visit some of the many local Caves and Chateau who offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two.
Not to be missed is the world famous Saint Emilion, just a short drive away. A designated world heritage site and is truly stunning. Explore characteristic narrow lanes lined with wine merchants, cafes, restaurants and interesting independent shops. A guided tour of the monolithic church is highly recommended.
Follow Rick Steins French Odyssey (Bordeaux to Bazas) trail across this region and encounter some of the best culinary experiences France has to offer.
This designated world heritage site is a must for all visitors. This cosmopolitan city offers a diverse range of attractions. The golden triangle has a fabulous range of shops for those shopaholics.
A rich variety of architecture forms the backdrop for the street cafe’s, restaurants, bars and not forgetting the superb Grand Theatre.
The Dordogne is just one of the many places to visit for day trips. Anything from Canoeing or boat trips on the Dordogne river to exploring ancient villages.
Most villages and towns hold weekly markets full of fresh and interesting local produce. An ideal place to pick up your holiday mementoes and gifts.
Both Monsegur and Duras also have night markets during the summer where you can eat and have a drink as well as browse the many stalls.
Cycle hire, Bike hire
The countryside around our properties is popular for cycling, whether it’s just a gentle ride around to explore or, if you are a keen cyclist, a long training ride on fantastic stretches of road to get the blood pumping whilst taking in the fantastic views.

Aqua Park is 17km located near Bergerac. Beach, canoeing and a water park.
A fresh water lake with sandy beach, 58km at Blasimon.
Visit Europe’s largest sand dune 180km, the Dune du Pilat where both the climb and the views will take your breath away! Reward yourself by feasting on fresh seafood around the Bay of Arcachon or take the ferry to Cap Ferret and feel the sand between your toes whilst you enjoy oysters and chilled white wine.

Tennis courts are located in the village, available free of charge locally during July & August. Racquets and balls are supplied. Details of how to book are provided at the house.
Other tennis courts are located in Monsegur, Duras & St Sernin de Duras.
Canoeing and kayaking
Canoe hire is available on the rivers. The river Dropt winds through the valley with a slow flow on it.
The Dordogne river at Sainte Foy has a faster pace but has plenty of canoe hire opportunities and literally just go with the flow and be picked up further down stream. Of course the easiest way is a boat trip and let some one else do the work.
Dordogne river boat trips on the are available in Bergerac 18km.
There are many pay and play golf courses within the area, the best being the beautiful Chateau Des Vigiers Golf and Country Club. The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set in 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine restaurant and relaxing beauty spa.
Zoo de Bordeaux Pessac is 133km.
