La Bohème, detached house with a pretty courtyard garden and private heated pool just a few minutes walk to the very centre of historic Bergerac old town with restaurants, shops, cafe/wine bars, riverside walks and weekly market. In the Dordogne region of southwest France.
La Bohème has been recently refurbished and decorated, after being a much-loved family home is now available for you to rent, be one of the very first to stay here.
Bedrooms & bathroom
Bedroom 1: Large double bed (160 x 200cm), air conditioning, balcony, electric shutters.
Upper floor, next to shared bathroom and wc.
Bedroom 2: Two single beds (90cm x 200cm), air conditioning, electric shutters.

Bathroom: The bathroom has a full size bath, over-bath shower with shower curtain, washbasin and wc. A door takes you into the small laundry area with a washing machine.

The snug: The snug has a bed and could be used as additional sleeping space if required and maybe more suitable for a child or a teenager.
Situated on the ground floor, electric shutters. There is an additional wc on the ground floor.
Modern fitted kitchen with electric oven and grill, gas hob, microwave, large fridge with freezer compartment, filter coffee machine and cafetière, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, walk-in pantry cupboard. The kitchen opens directly into the pretty courtyard garden.
Lounge and dining area
Comfortable lounge with a sofa and chairs, 44-inch widescreen TV with English and French channels. Views out to the pool and garden, electric shutters.
Large dining table easily seating 5 guests.
Situated on the ground floor, a cosy and quiet room to watch TV or read a book. A single bed could be used as additional sleeping space if required, maybe more suitable for a child or a teenager, electric shutters.
There is an additional wc on the ground floor.
Baby package and toddlers
There is a stair gate at the top of the stairs and a door at the bottom of the stairs.
A travel cot (suitable for up to 18 months of age), high chair, baby bath and a buggy (suitable for 18 months and older) can all be supplied on request. Please provide your own cot bedding.
Private garden and heated pool
The pretty garden is a little oasis and has a private heated pool with a counter-current pool you can swim against as well as a massage facility. Measurements: 5.5m x 2.4m x 1.45m deep.
There are ladder steps into the pool which is secured by an alarm.
The garden faces south so has sun most of the day and a sail gives you shade. There is a table and chairs as well as a BBQ for alfresco meals.
Parking is free around the immediate area and outside of the house where there is parking for one car. The house has a garage at the end of the garden (this is used as personal storage space by the owners), there is a “No parking” sign in front of the garage so this space is available for guests to use. There is also a large car park about 50 meters away.

The local area and what to do, Bergerac, the Dordogne and South West France
Situated in the Dordogne in the famous, historic town of Bergerac in the region of Aquitaine.
La Bohème holiday villa is situated in the very centre of Bergerac, just minutes walk from the old bridge to the the old town with restaurants, shops, cafes, bars and weekly market .
Boat trips on the river start literally 3 minutes walk away.
The famous Chateau at Monbazillac is just 7km away and is well worth a visit of the ancient castle followed by some tasting of their deliciously sweet white wine. Read more about the stunning Monbazillac white wine.
Bordeaux city centre is 120km drive drive (or by train), Saint Émilion 61km west, Périgueux 50km north.
This is the ideal base from which to explore South West France. Located in the Dordogne and is considered to be one of the most picturesque areas of France.
The gently rolling countryside is a pleasure to explore, with excellent roads winding their way through fields and vineyards. Perfect cycling country!
The nearest large supermarket is E.Leclerc 4.km away. The are many supermarkets and large stores on the outskirts of the town. Smaller stores are walking distance within the town as well as the twice weekly produce market.

The countryside around our properties is popular for cycling, whether it’s just a gentle ride around to explore or, if you are a keen cyclist, a long training ride on fantastic stretches of road to get the blood pumping whilst taking in the fantastic views.
Bring your own bike or bike hire is available, we recommend booking in advance.
Dordogne river boat trips are available in Bergerac just a few minutes walk away.
There are many pay and play golf courses within the area, the best being the beautiful Chateau Des Vigiers Golf and Country Club (24km). The chateau dates back to 1597 and is set in 450 acres of stunning countryside. Facilities also include a fine dining restaurant, a more relaxed bistro and relaxing beauty spa.

The miniature port is a great idea for spending a pleasant and fabulous day with your family in a green setting on the Picquecailloux plain in Bergerac.

You will be able to discover the only water carousel on the Campréal pond in Bergerac. 1.5km / 20 minute walk.

The Bordeaux wine region has 21 appellations. Visit some of the many local Caves and Chateau who offer free tastings and tours while you choose a bottle or two.
Not to be missed is the world famous St Emilion, just an hours drive away. A designated world heritage site and is truly stunning. Explore characteristic narrow lanes lined with wine merchants, cafes, restaurants and interesting independent shops. A guided tour of the monolithic church is highly recommended.
